THE FINOCCHIARO APRILE THEATER

The video of the song "Cima" was born from the desire to tell the abandoned and decadent spaces of the Teatro Finocchiaro in Palermo and to give them life again through the performance of the electronic duo Vossa. In a gently psychedelic setting, with strong imprints of red light, corners of the theater appear in almost poetic frames for their essentiality and violent truth, which tell the state of abandonment in which it pours.

Abandoned tables, open windows and, last but not least, dead, dried-up insects on the thresholds of French windows; and then cobwebs, slender bridges between one flight of stairs and another. Tales of a reality which, however, cannot obscure the beauty and history of this Theater which has experienced ups and downs and which, in 2015, was reopened after ten years of oblivion, while from the 1950s to 2004 it had been among the main cinema halls of the city.

Il video del brano "Cima" nasce dalla volontà di raccontare gli spazi abbandonati e decadenti del Teatro Finocchiaro di Palermo e di ridargli vita attraverso l'esibizione del duo elettronico Vossa. In un'ambientazione dolcemente psichedelica, dalle forti impronte di luce rossa, compaiono, in frame quasi poetici per la loro essenzialità e violenta verità, angoli del teatro che raccontano lo stato di abbandono in cui riversa.

Tavolini abbandonati, finestre aperte e non ultimi insetti morti, rinsecchiti, sulle soglie di porte finestre; e poi ragnatele, esili ponti tra una rampa di scala e l'altra. Racconti di una realtà che, comunque, non può offuscare la bellezza e la storia di questo Teatro che ha vissuto fasi alterne e che, nel 2015, era stato riaperto dopo dieci anni di oblio, mentre dagli anni '50 al 2004 era stato tra le principali sale cinematografiche della città.
